EclipseCrossword

Principal function(s): Crossword puzzle creators

EclipseCrossword is a tool that generates crosswords from a list of words and clues. The only thing that the user needs to do is enter the words or clues. The software then creates a crossword which contains them. Once installed, the tool can be used for classwork (to revise vocabulary and lesson content), or for websites and newsletters. Teachers can make use of the tool for class assignments, while webmasters could add a crossword to the website to make it more interactive. Editors of newsletters can also integrate a crossword into their publication to liven it up. Evaluation: EclipseCrossword tool has a simple interface, with clear instructions which are easy to follow.. It also has a comprehensive ‘Help’ link. Crosswords can be created quickly and easily and students can access them directly via web browser.
