Crossword Labs

Principal function(s): Crossword puzzle creators

Crossword Labs is a free online tool to build, print, share and solve crossword puzzles. Users just need to enter a title, as well as the words to include in it. The app will then do all of the work. Puzzles can be created in any language. One can also find a ready-made crossword puzzle on many different subjects. Evaluation: Crossword Labs is a simple and effective tool to create all kinds of crosswords. Great for students to practise vocabulary.

Medium. CrossowrdLabs collects user data relevant to providing its crossword creation and solving services. It works with third parties but prevents unauthorised access or misuse of data, does not run ads, and does not share user data for marketing purposes. Data is stored in the United States, While the policy mentions precautions to prevent unauthorized access and the use of security protocols for credit card data, it does not provide extensive details about the security measures in place. CrosswordLabs explicitly states that individuals under 13 years of age are not authorized to register on the site. It does not mention compliance with the GDPR. See more here.

Playphrase (Tool to find the pronunciation of words from movies )

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation.
