Quizlet is a flashcard app that helps students study and get tested on a huge variety of subjects, such as languages, history, geography, science, etc., in a simple and fun way. It offers many different options for tailoring teaching and/or students’ learning, as well as for testing their knowledge. One can create their own flashcards or choose from those created by other Quizlet students and teachers. Text can be imported from Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc., and with Quizlet Plus audio recordings can also be incorporated. After adding the content, one can choose from 10 different gaming and study modes, which students use individually or in groups. With Quizlet Live, the tool can also be used in the classroom, in real-time, as a learning/testing game where students work together to find the correct answers to questions set by you. Quizlet can be used on a desktop or on mobile devices. Evaluation: The tool can be used by both teachers and students. Up to 8 classes can be created for free. An unlimited number of classes can be created by upgrading to Quizlet Plus account. The website offers a lot of useful information, and the step-by-step guidelines for use are extremely clear and detailed. Many different samples of flash cards and suggestions for classroom use are available. Quizlet is easy to use in the classroom and popular with students of all ages. They enjoy the simple attractive flashcard format and the quick responses provided.

It also gathers cookies for different purposes, among which marketing. Its privacy policy mentions using industry-standard security measures to protect user data. It also states that Quizlet collects data with user consent, particularly when users sign up or log in to their accounts. Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation.
